This course has taught me the importance of presenting your ideas and works visually. the course taught me how to show my creativeness and skill without talking about it. In the 3 workshops i chose (motion, atlas, model making) my final piece at the end of the 4 week workshop was unique, elaborate and presented my ideas.
My 3 workshops worked well together as they relied on skills i dont usually use. I created and edited my first still shot film. Painted and used photoshop in my atlas and learnt how to build an abstract 3D scaled model.
This course has really brought out my creative side and i will utilise this in subsequent courses.
The ideas and concepts I learnt in my first workshop, architecture in motion transcended to atlas of colour where I successfully incoroporated the colours I used in my film to create an atlas which was bold and brash.
Making the atlas was a fiddley task which required precision with measuring and neatness when joining the pages. The skills I learnt when making the atlas helped me with my model making, as model making required precision measuring, cutting and glueing.

MODELLING
I have really enjoyed the modelling workshop.
- I have learnt how to use different materials, (Balsa & box-board).
- i have learnt how to use different scales.
I enjoyed the workshop because it was so hands on.
I found it hard to be so precise wih measurements. I also found it difficult to present/construct ideas and thoughts you had about your model.

ATLAS OF COLOUR
i submitted my atlas on the 16th of september.
i was really happy with all the exerises i completed during the duration of the course. i really put a lot of effort into to achieve work that i was really proud of.
my final product looked sophisticated with the red front cover and sleek black and white tunnel book at the back.
my only negativity about my atlas would be the difficulty in getting it to stand upright, so that the full effects of my tunnel book can be observed.
i found the workshop very interesting, however i feel too much time in the workshops was used up talking about the layout of books, which left alot of the excersises to do at home.
my favourite task was creating my personal color wheel. i did not enjoy the part where we had to manipulate the plan and elevation as i have limited experience with photoshop.

Submission of my Architecture in motion project
Ideas behind the film
The bathroom seemed the most appropriate place to set my still shot film in as I view it as such a mysterious place, with all the taps and drains leading beyond ones sight. I played with this idea I had and transformed all the taps in the still shots I took of the bathroom into metaphorical doors to the sea. I tried to create humour in my film, through the abstract ideas presented in the film and through my drawings of the sea animals and there actions in the bathroom.
Reflection:
I am happy with my still shot film. I was able to present all my ideas successfully through the still shots and the use of the software (Movie-maker). When we were first briefed on how to create a still shot film and the outcomes, I doubted my ability at being able to create a film. But through constant work over the past four weeks I have achieved a still shot film, which exceeds my initial expectation of my ability. This course has so far brought out the creative side in me.
Through viewing Kentridge’s films and then creating my own still shot film I gained a greater understanding for the thought and extreme manipulation which is required to create these pieces of art work which are bold, brash and forthright.
